August 2 Fryingpan Island

Our next island hop was to Fryingpan Island, where a famous fish camp was housed, Henry’s Fish Camp.  We decided to stay the night there in order to spend the afternoon and evening putting down all the navigational information needed for our next couple of stops.  I had gotten lazy going through the canals because there was very little work needed to navigate a canal that was 20 feet wide.   But now, there are 30,000 islands to navigate around, and many submerged rocks.  So, it is taking a lot of time to work up the navigation plan.   Below is a pic of the typical scene going through the rock outcrops in the Georgian bay.   Next 2 pics are from Henry’s Fish Camp, where float planes fly into every hour from Parry Sound.  It was hoot watching these small planes in action.  The fish camp restaurant is famous for its fresh pickeral.  We had the pickeral and it was very good, but, we heard that Henry does not own the restaurant anymore and that the pickeral is not really fresh caught.  It was good anyway.
